Credibility Clips vs filming yourself: what actually works for professionals

A phone on a tripod beside a video camera, microphone and studio light.

Filming yourself works if you can make a clear video and keep making them week after week. Credibility Clips works when you know your stuff but the filming, editing and posting keep getting pushed to next week.

Either way, the content that works is the same: you, answering the questions your clients actually ask, in the way you’d answer them across the desk.

What does filming yourself really involve?

More than hitting record. You need to pick the question, set up the phone, get the sound right, do a few takes, edit it down, add captions, write the post and publish it. Each step is easy. Doing all of them every week, around a full client load, is where it falls over.

If you enjoy it and you’re consistent, keep going. A quick, honest answer filmed on your phone can do the job, especially if it’s timely.

But be honest with yourself. A camera roll full of half-finished videos isn’t a content strategy. If the editing always waits until next week, your problem isn’t confidence on camera. It’s time.

What happens in a Credibility Clips session?

You come into our Essendon studio for an hour, and we interview you.

That’s the difference. You’re not talking to a lens. You’re having a conversation with someone who knows how to ask the right questions. Before you arrive, we work out the questions your clients ask most. In the session, we ask them, and you answer like you would in a meeting.

While you’re still in the chair, we’ll pick up when an answer has a better hook buried in the middle. We’ll reframe the question and go again. That’s interviewing craft, and it’s why the clips sound like you on a good day.

Then our team edits the session into a pack of short-form videos, ready for LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.

Dr Rashid Khan runs Evacovation, the emergency-management company behind the EVAC Tracker app. He’s not a content creator, he’s an expert with a lot to explain. His first session gave him 10 clips. When he came back in August, one hour in the chair turned into 15.

What do you get from a session?

A pack of 6, 10 or 15 short-form videos from one hour in the studio. Your first clip is delivered within 72 hours, and the full pack within 10 business days. If we miss that, you get 20% off your next session. Want it ongoing? There’s a monthly option of 10 videos a month.

Now compare one hour in our studio with the hours you’d spend filming and editing yourself, at your hourly rate. For most professionals, the maths isn’t close. Get in touch and we’ll quote you.

What should a professional actually talk about?

The questions people ask you before they hire you. What does it cost? How long does it take? What do people get wrong? What should I do before I call you?

Don’t list your credentials. Nobody cares whether you’re CA or CPA. They care that you understand their problem. Show them how you think, in plain language, and they’ll work out the rest.

And if you’ve built your business on referrals, you’ve got a head start. Those referrals happen because people already trust you. Your videos are what they find when they look you up.

Can you do both?

Yes, and plenty of people should. Use a studio session for the evergreen questions, the answers that stay useful for months. Then film quick updates on your phone in between, when something’s topical.

Both should sound like the same person talking to the same audience. One just looks a bit sharper.

How do you choose?

Ask yourself four questions:

  1. Can you record an answer that sounds like you?
  2. Can people hear it clearly?
  3. Will you actually finish the edit?
  4. Will you do it again next week?

If it’s yes to all four, keep filming yourself. If any of them is a no, that’s where your content keeps stalling, and a session fixes it.
