In the latest episode of Moonee Valley Voices we sat down with Stefanie Carniato, founder of Gratofy, a gifting platform that’s changing the way we think about presents. With Christmas just around the corner this couldn’t have come at a better time.

Stef’s story is one of creativity, passion and innovation. From growing up in Moonee Valley to launching Gratofy in 2024 Stef’s journey is full of inspiration for start ups and anyone looking to make gifting more meaningful.

The Gratofy Idea

Gratofy’s mission is simple yet powerful: to get rid of the stress of gift giving by giving the Gift of Choice. Instead of guessing what someone might like, you can choose up to 5 options. The recipient then chooses what they really want.

Stef explains how the idea was born out of her own frustration with traditional gift giving. “We live in a world where people buy what they need for themselves, leaving gift givers guessing. Gratofy removes the guesswork and makes gift giving fun again” Stef says in the episode.

This has made Gratofy a hit for personal and corporate gifting. From birthdays to business events every gift is thoughtful and well received.

2024 Gifting Trends

With Christmas around the corner Stef shared her top gifting trends for the year. Gratofy’s curated gifts cover all categories so whether you’re buying for a loved one or a corporate client Gratofy makes it easy.

Stef also talked about Gratofy’s focus on building relationships with local suppliers. By supporting businesses close to home Gratofy is sustainable and delivers quality gifts.

Stef’s Local Connection

Although Stef’s business has taken her to New York City she’s a true Melburnian. She grew up near Moonee Valley and spent her younger years hanging out on Puckle Street which was the social hub of the area.

Stef’s love for the area and the community is evident as she talks about why she chose to base Gratofy in Melbourne. For her the city’s culture and entrepreneurial spirit makes it the perfect place to grow her business.

Why This Matters

At the end of the day this is more than just about gifting – it’s about connection. Stef’s desire to create a platform that encourages gratitude and thoughtfulness is something we all need in today’s busy world. Her story also reminds us that great ideas often come from recognising everyday problems and finding creative solutions.
