In the debut episode of Moonee Valley Voices, we kicked off this exciting project from our Moonee Ponds podcast studio with a conversation featuring Hamish Jones. Hamish is a local business owner, tech expert, and passionate advocate for community building. He brings over 20 years of experience helping businesses embrace digital transformation, AI integration, and automation while maintaining strong local connections in Moonee Valley.
At Content Hype, a content marketing agency based in Moonee Valley, we believe in the power of storytelling. We launched Moonee Valley Voices from our Melbourne podcast studio to give local business owners, community leaders, and residents a platform to share their stories. In this first episode, Hamish discusses his journey, the impact of technology, and how he’s running for the 2024 Moonee Valley Council elections to contribute even more to the local community.
The Power of Local Podcasting
The idea for this podcast grew from our passion for helping businesses share their unique stories. As the founder of Content Hype, I saw an opportunity to expand our content marketing Melbourne services by offering high-quality podcast production from our Essendon podcast studio. This allows local businesses and individuals to connect with the community in a personal and engaging way.
“People are listening to podcasts more than the radio now,” Hamish explained. “They want to connect with stories, and I felt Moonee Valley was lacking that. There wasn’t a space where local voices could be heard.”
Hamish’s experience with digital technology aligned perfectly with our vision to create a Moonee Valley podcast studio that allows local voices to shine. He was thrilled to be our first guest and help kick off the project.
A Lifelong Connection to Moonee Valley
Hamish’s deep connection to Moonee Valley has shaped both his business and personal life. He’s lived in the area for most of his life, growing up in Ascot Vale and moving to Strathmore, where he now runs his business.
“I haven’t moved far at all,” Hamish joked. “I went to school at Flemington Primary, then Essendon Grammar, and now live and run my business in Strathmore.”
At Content Hype, we understand how important local connections are. It’s why we built our Moonee Ponds podcast studio to serve the local community and offer podcast production services that can bring people together.
Building Community Through Digital Transformation
Technology has been a key part of Hamish’s professional life. His business, Best Business Deals, focuses on helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) integrate digital tools to streamline their operations. But what really sets him apart is his community-first approach.
“We don’t have the marketing budgets of companies like Telstra or Optus,” Hamish explained, referencing his telecommunications business. “Our growth has come from networking and referrals. Community happens both online and offline.”
Hamish’s experience with digital transformation highlights the importance of balancing cutting-edge technology with personal relationships. This mirrors what we do at Content Hype, where we combine content marketing strategies with authentic storytelling, ensuring businesses stay connected to their customers. Our Moonee Valley podcast studio plays a crucial role in helping businesses share these stories.
“Technology is a tool,” Hamish said. “But relationships are what build businesses.”
AI and the Future of Local Businesses
In this episode, we also dive into the exciting world of AI. Hamish discussed the rapid adoption of AI tools like ChatGPT and how they’ve changed the game for local businesses.
“Generative AI, like ChatGPT, is a game-changer,” Hamish said. “Its uptake has been phenomenal. Businesses can use it for productivity, research, and even creative tasks. The key is to harness it properly while ensuring data privacy.”
At Content Hype, we’ve embraced these new tools within our content marketing agency to help businesses grow. AI can save time and improve workflows, which is why we also offer podcast production services to help local businesses create engaging content with ease.
“You can use AI to do hours of data entry in minutes,” Hamish explained. “It’s about using technology to work smarter, not harder.”
Running for Moonee Valley Council
One of the most exciting parts of our conversation was Hamish’s decision to run for the 2024 Moonee Valley Council elections. His passion for the local community and his desire to bring a balanced voice to council was inspiring.
“I’ve spent my entire life here, and I’m passionate about Moonee Valley,” Hamish said. “There’s a lot that’s great about this place, but there are things that can be improved. I want to bring a balanced voice to council and make sure we’re looking after the community.”
Hamish’s focus includes protecting open spaces, supporting small businesses, and ensuring infrastructure keeps up with population growth. His candidacy aligns with the values we promote at Content Hype, where community and business go hand in hand. Our Essendon podcast studio provides a platform for people like Hamish to share their visions for the future.
Hamish’s Vision for Moonee Valley
As the episode wrapped up, Hamish shared his hopes for the future of Moonee Valley.
“I want to see Moonee Valley continue to be a place where people can live, work, and raise a family,” Hamish said. “It’s about making sure we protect what makes this area great while finding ways to improve it.”
Hamish’s vision reflects why we started this podcast from our Moonee Valley podcast studio. We want to connect the community by highlighting the stories, challenges, and triumphs of the people who live and work here. Whether through podcasting, content marketing, or simply connecting local businesses, we’re passionate about making a difference in our community.
